This is a sample of a typical trainer-based session developed by Matt Dixon from purplepatch fitness. This 50 minute building intensity session will provide great insight into a specific trainer-based session for triathletes and cyclists.

This bike session starts with a 10-min easy spin in Zones 1 and 2.

The main body of this workout includes 3 x 8-min interval sets in Zones 2,3 and 4 with 2-min Zone 1 recoveries between them.

Surprise Set: This surprise set will last 5-min.

The session finishes with a 5-min cool-down in Zone 1.

I thought this is very good, it's very easy and 50 minutes goes by fast.

I really enjoy this workout. It gets you into the higher zones and makes you sustain a high level of training. Plus the bonus set at the end is a killer!

Just try this workout! The 50 minutes are over before you know it!
