This workout is intended to put the finishing touches on your marathon preparation and test the feasibility of a specific marathon goal time. The workout consists of a 'metric marathon'—that is, 26.2 kilometers, or 16.3 miles.

Perform this run at your Goal Marathon Race Pace, starting out on the conservative side to allow your body to warm up gradually.

This run is to be performed 4-6 weeks out from a Marathon to gauge fitness.  

Tip: Carry something to drink with you during the run.
